@mhpgardener haha yes you should get a percentage. Thanks for the reply, I went to a few hydro shops around here and finally found some 1 gallon bags. Probably exactly what you have. Hope they work and thanks again!
@ScruffyBueno I’m not sure the brand. I used up all I had and didnt keep a label. But I got them online, discount – hydro dot com….they oughta be sending me a check as much as I’ve told folks about them! Other places sell them too, of course. Mine are white/black, so I can reverse them if necessary.
Buddy, I just found your channel and I love it. Thanks so much for posting these vids, I can see your workin your butt off and I love your homestead, by the way I aint to far from ya. Im in Martinsburg, WV
@stymye Ty sir ! So far, so good. Still working on getting the nutrient levels just right. Got a couple of plants with some BER. Some varieties more prone than others I guess. Nothing major. Gonna brew up a batch of tea with some additives like you suggested, see if I can help them a bit. Also, I read that worm tea was helpful in dealing with whiteflies…interesting.
@Organigasmic The tub/bkts is something new I’m trying. I’ve seen the results from others and liked what I saw. These in the 5gal and tubs will stay in the GH. I WILL have some for moving outside. Yes, there’s enough room in that growbag to support a mature tomato vine. Whether I leave them in the bag/tub or dig a hole big enough to put the bag in, I’m not sure yet. The cool thing is, I can drop the bag in a hole, then just cut the plastic bag away if I want, without flipping the bag over.
I’ve never tried grow bags but they look good and sound cost effective except for the buckets. 2.50 each can get expensive pretty quick. You said you were going to move them to the garden, does that mean you are going to take them out of the bags? It seems like there would be enough volume for a tomato root system to just leave them in t he bags.
Thanks for the video! We have a much smaller area of land than most of the folks on the forum and a big part that gets a LOT of sun is unusable due to the septic tank/drain fields however I can certainly use grow bags, I’ll take a video of my own when the time comes but now I’ve got even more space so thank you!!
Thanks for a great video. They look beautiful and I’ll be hoping for a part 2 to see the progress. I think you’ll get plenty of reuse out of the bags and pans since they’re sheltered in the GH.
Thx. As far as I know, yes you can. Just wash them out, maybe in a little bleach or peroxide, and they should be ready to go again. I’ll dump the soil mix in the garden when the time comes, and then be ready to fill the bags with new mix.

What brand of bag do you use? I’ve been interested in trying this out due to cost of plastic pots being out of control!
@keith19692 Ty Sir ! Yep , you’re just the other side of those little hills ! lol Really beautiful country up there.
